What is BS EN 62827-3 - Wireless power transfer about?

BS EN 62827 is a series of European standards on wireless power transfer that discusses the required procedure for wireless transmission of electric power from the power source to the consuming device. BS EN 62827-3 is the third part of a series of documents on wireless power transfer. BS EN 62827-3 specifies methods and procedures to form groups for a spatial wireless power transfer system. The group of spatial wireless power-transfer systems that include multiple power sources provides power transfer to receiving devices based on magnetic resonance technology.

In order to achieve efficient power transfer to multiple receiving devices, BS EN 62827-3 also specifies methods and procedures to set, share, and control the conditions of power transfer between multiple power sources and receiving devices.

Who is BS EN 62827-3 - Wireless power transfer for?

BS EN 62827-3 on wireless power transfer is relevant to:

  • Electrical and electronic engineer
  • Manufacturer of the wireless power transfer device

Why should you use BS EN 62827-3- Wireless power transfer?

Wireless power transfer technology transmits electric power from the power source to the power-consuming device without the use of wire. The most widely used technology is electromagnetic induction technology and magnetic resonance technology. The wireless power transfer system eliminates the need for the user to connect a power cable to the electrical outlet.

Through electromagnetic induction technology, users place the power-receiving device within a short distance from the power source in order to charge a battery without removing it from its device.

BS EN 62827-3  provides guidance on a basic overview of WPMS-S, requirements in WPMS-S s, control and management method on WPMS-S, formation of WPMS-S -s group, preparation of wireless power transfer for multiple WPMS-S -ds, wireless power transfer mode, reconfiguration of WPMS-S, power transfer to WPMS-S -d with a flat battery, termination of wireless power transfer.

As a user of BS EN 62827-3, you can form groups for a spatial wireless power transfer system. With obedience and compliance to BS EN 62827-3, you can achieve efficient power transfer to multiple receiving devices. BS EN 62827-3 provides you with comprehensive information useful throughout the process of transmission of electric power.
