What is BS 6068-2.31 — Physical, chemical, and biochemical methods about?
BS 6068-2.31 is the 31st section of the multi-series standard that specifies a formaldoxime spectrometric method for the determination of total manganese (including dissolved, suspended and organically bound manganese) in surface and drinking water.
The method described in BS 6068-2.31 is applicable to the determination of manganese concentrations between 0,01 mg/l and 5 mg/l. Manganese concentrations above 5 mg/l may be determined after suitable dilution of the sample.
For known possible interferences, see clause 8.
NOTE This method is not applicable to highly contaminated waters such as industrial wastewater.
Who is BS 6068-2.31 — Physical, chemical, and biochemical methods for?
BS 6068-2.31 on the Physical, chemical, and biochemical methods are useful for:
- Wastewater collecting systems
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Plants treating industrial wastewater
- Water supply treatment plants
Why should you use BS 6068-2.31— Physical, chemical, and biochemical methods?
The manganese formaldoxime complex is stable between pH values of 9,5 and 10,5, and the intensity of the color produced is proportional to the amount of manganese present.
BS 6068-2.31 provides methods for characterizing water quality based on physical, chemical, and biochemical measures for determining the manganese content in water using the formaldoxime spectrometric method.
BS 6068-2.31 describes methods and procedures for determining the manganese content in raw water with formaldoxime spectrometric method.
BS 6068-2.31 provides you with apparatus, sampling, transport, storage, and preparation of test pieces, preparation of reagents and apparatus, pre-treatment of test pieces, test procedure, and much more.
The test methods and procedures provided by BS 6068-2.31 assist you in the determination of manganese in water and ensure reducing the risk of severe health issues.
With obedience and compliance to BS 6068-2.31, you can enhance the efficacy of the water and manufacture a standardized product.
