What is BS 6068-2.9 Physical, chemical, and biochemical methods about?

BS 6068-2.9 specifies a titrimetric method using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) for the determination of the sum of the calcium and magnesium concentrations in ground waters, surface waters and drinking waters.

BS 6068-2.9 is not intended for effluents and waters having a high concentration of salts, such as sea waters. The lowest concentration that can be determined is 0,05 mmol/l.

Who is BS 6068-2.9 Physical, chemical, and biochemical methods for?

BS 6068-2.9 on the Physical, chemical, and biochemical methods are useful for:

  • Wastewater collecting systems
  • Wastewater treatment plants
  • Plants treating industrial wastewater
  • Water supply treatment plants

Why should you use BS 6068-2.9Physical, chemical, and biochemical methods?

"EDTA" or ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is a complexometric indicator consisting of two amino groups and four carboxyl groups. EDTA is a hexadentate ligand due to the fact that it can represent six pairs of lonely electrons.

BS 6068-2.9 provides methods for characterizing water quality based on physical, chemical, and biochemical measures for determining the sum of iron and magnesium in water using the EDTA titrimetric method.

BS 6068-2.9 describes methods and procedures for determining the sum of calcium and magnesium in raw water with EDTA titrimetric method.

BS 6068-2.9 provides you with apparatus, sampling, transport, storage, and preparation of test pieces, preparation of reagents and apparatus, pre-treatment of test pieces, test procedure, and much more.

The test methods and procedures provided by BS 6068-2.9 assist you in the determination of calcium and magnesium in water and ensure reducing the risk of severe health issues.

With obedience and compliance to BS 6068-2.9, you can enhance the efficacy of the water and manufacture a standardized product.
