BS EN 1314-1 is about performance testing of components /products for residential ventilation both for external and internal mounted air transfer devices.

Note: BS EN 1314-1 does not apply to the evaluation of air filtration, condensation risk, noise production.

Who is BS EN 1314-1 - Ventilation for buildings for?

BS EN 1314-1 on Ventilation for buildings useful for:

  • Architects
  • A/C Manufacturers
  • Interior and exterior designers

BS EN 1314-1 provides you with laboratory methods for testing externally and internally mounted air transfer devices operating under pressure differences. BS EN 1314-1 helps you to provide a better ventilation system with test performance results.

What’s changed since the last update?

BS EN 1314-1:2019 supersedes BS EN 1314-1:2004, which is withdrawn BS EN 1314-1:2019 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 1314-1:2004. These include:

  • Terms, definitions, symbols, and units have been updated
  • The test installation has been completed
  • uncertainty of measurement has been amended and brackets removed
  • the test procedure and analysis of results has been updated
  • Dimensioned drawing of the air transfer device, opening, and position on the board in the test is now required in the test report
