What is ISO 2861 about?
ISO 2861 discuss vacuum technology. Vacuum technology is a method used to evacuate air from a closed volume by creating a pressure differential from the closed volume to some vent, the ultimate vent being the open atmosphere. ISO 2861 specifies the dimensions of the clamped-type quick-release couplings used in vacuum technology, as well as those of the O-rings and their carriers associated with these couplings, used to ensure vacuum tightness. The dimensions retained for the coupling diameter ensure the compatibility of the quick-release coupling with the corresponding vacuum flanges specified in ISO 1609.

BS ISO 2861:2020 supersedes BS ISO 2861:2013. BS ISO 2861:2020 includes some technical changes with respect to BS ISO 2861:2013. These include:
