What is BS EN IEC 625593‒ Use case methodology about?

BS EN IEC 625593 is the third part of an international multi-series standard that covers general specifications for good quality reed switches.

BS EN IEC 625593 establishes the interfaces between the different use cases repositories and/or UML engineering software tools. It defines the required core concepts and their serialization into XML syntactic format of a use case template, an Actor list, and a list for detailed requirements.

BS EN IEC 625593 supports the interoperability between modelling software used by different companies over the world. Once this level of interoperability is achieved, IEC 62559 can provide a reliable mechanism to interpret those XML data in order to represent graphically UML use cases. This need is proposed to be covered as well in the future part of IEC 62559 (to be defined).

BS EN IEC 630443 is applicable to:

  • Operator stations and other human–system interface devices
  • Devices for management functions
  • Control devices, automation stations, and application-specific controllers
  • Field devices and their interfaces
  • Cabling and interconnection of devices used within a dedicated HBES/BACS network

Note 1: BS EN IEC 625593 focuses on a methodological framework that is also used by IEC TC 57 standards.

Note 2: BS EN IEC 625593 establishes the interfaces between the different use case repositories and/or UML tools, in order to exchange use cases based on the template which is defined in IEC 62559-2.

Who is BS EN IEC 625593‒ Use case methodology for?

BS EN IEC 625593 on use case methodology is useful for:

  • Business designing processors
  • Software developing companies
  • Software developers
  • Designers and developers of use case methodology

Why should you use BS EN IEC 625593‒ Use case methodology?

Use case methodology provides functionalities, Actors and processes across different technical committees or even different organizations. Developed as a software engineering tool, the methodology can be used to support the development of standards as it facilitates the analysis of requirements in relation to new or existing standards.

BS EN IEC 625593 describes processes and provides basics for the use case methodology like terms or use case types. It serves the main purpose to propose an independent format for transferring the use case information between modelling software. In order to satisfy this goal, the syntactic XML format is chosen to serialize the use case data.

BS EN IEC 625593 is very useful for its users, as it defines in detail the core concepts of the template into UML and their transformations into XML using the XSD standard.
