What is ISO 14827‑3 about?

ISO 14827‑3 is the third part of an international multi-series standard that deals with transport information and control systems.

ISO 14827‑3 is applicable to data exchange between different systems. It defines the message rules and procedures for communication between transport information and control systems using XML.

Note 1: Rules and procedures for exchanging data packets in lower layers are out of the scope of ISO 14827‑3.

Note 2: Data definition used in specific end-applications is out of scope in ISO 14827‑3.

ISO 14827‑3 defines the mechanism to request end-application data from the client and to deliver the requested data from the supplier, and it defines only Profile A. It states a system that can be both a client and a supplier of another system simultaneously, using multiple sessions.
