What is BS EN 1434-1 about?

BS EN 14341 is the first part of the multi-series European Standard that specifies the general requirements for thermal energy meters intended for measuring the energy which in a heat-exchange circuit is absorbed (cooling) or given up (heating) by a liquid called the heat-conveying liquid.

The thermal energy meter indicates the quantity of heat in legal units.

Electrical safety requirements are not covered by BS EN 14341.

Pressure safety requirements are not covered by BS EN 14341.

Surface-mounted temperature sensors are not covered by BS EN 14341.

BS EN 14341 covers meters for closed systems only, where the differential pressure over the thermal load is limited.

Who is BS EN 1434-1 for?

BS EN 1434-1 on thermal energy meter is useful for:

  • Manufacturers and suppliers of thermal energy meters
  • Electronics and Electrical engineers
  • Testing houses/ service/certification providers for thermal energy meter

Why should you use BS EN 1434-1?

Universal Travel adaptor is a plug that connects a piece of electrical equipment brought from one country to the electricity supply in another when they cannot be connected directly, used especially when traveling.

BS EN 1434-1 describes general requirements and specifications, types of testing, marking, dimensions, solid insulation, construction, earthing, and resistance to excessive stress and rusting for thermal energy meters.

Overall, BS EN 1434-1 guides users to use a structured methodology and a systems approach to manufacture superior quality of thermal energy meters, thereby accelerating the uptake of new energy-saving technologies. Utilizing these tools can lead to greater energy efficiency and superior-quality products.
