What is BS EN 9332 about?

BS EN 9332 is the second part of the BS EN 933 series of documents that specifies the nominal size of apertures for test sieves used for the determination of the particle size of aggregates.

NOTE: BS EN 9332 applies to:

  • Test sieves of a perforated metal plate having square holes of size from 4 mm and up to 125 mm
  • Test sieves of metal wire cloth having aperture sizes below 4 mm down to 0,063 mm.

Who is BS EN 9332 for?

BS EN 9332 on particle size distribution for test sieves is relevant to:

  • Civil engineers
  • Builders
  • Test sieve manufacturers
  • Aggregates manufacturing industry

Why should you use BS EN 9332?

A test sieve is a device for separating wanted elements from unwanted material or for characterizing the particle size distribution of a sample. BS EN 9332 gives the determination of particle size of aggregates through test sieves.

BS EN 9332 provides the requirements for applicable test sieves with a nominal aperture size of 4 mm and above that have a perforated plate with square holes.

BS EN 9332 gives the nominal size of apertures for applicable test sieves along with the principal series of nominal sizes of apertures for test sieves.

Furthermore, BS EN 9332 assists you with the test sieves utilized to identify the particle size of aggregates that comprise of different sizes (fine and coarse) that will enable your building structure to be stronger and more durable.

What’s changed since the last update?

BS EN 9332:2020 supersedes EN 933-2:1995. BS EN 9332:2020 includes some technical changes with respect to EN 933-2:1995. These include:

  • The addition of Table 1 "Applicable test sieves – Nominal size of apertures”
