What is BS EN ISO 7083:2021 about?
One of the BS 8888 family of standards, BS EN ISO 7083 is a revised international standard that brings together all the symbols used in technical and engineering drawings.

What does BS EN ISO 7083:2021 cover?
This document is a collection of all the current symbols used in technical product documentation. The symbols are indexed to the individual standards in which they were created and implemented.
BS EN ISO 7083 also specifies the recommended proportions for the symbols, giving recommended dimensions based on the grid related to the line width to be used. The proportions are based on the standard heights of lettering given in BS EN ISO 3098-1.
NOTE: This document does not apply to symbols used in process plant documentation, which are covered in BS EN ISO 81714-1.

What’s new about BS EN ISO 7083:2021?
This is a technical revision which replaces BS EN ISO 7083:1995. The main change is the addition of symbols created by the ISO/TC 10 and ISO/TC 213 working groups as defined in their standards.
