Leisure water features are created by the introduction of air and/or water under pressure into the pool water, the safety of the users is provided by means of a risk assessment. 

BS EN 13451-3 discusses safety requirements, structural integrity, water speed at inlets, hair entrapment, slip resistance of grilles, risk of suction entrapment, positioning of leisure features, stream channels and rivers, additional requirements for specific leisure features, and test methods. To prevent risks of impact and/or entrapment caused by the involuntary movement of the users, special attention shall be paid to the location and type of swimming pool accessories installed in a stream channel.
