PD 6705-2+A1 is the second part of multiple series that gives guidance on the use of BS EN 1090-2:2008+A1:2011 for the execution of all types of steel bridges designed to BS EN 1993. 

Note: It is applicable to the same scope of application as BS EN 1090-2:2008+A1:2011 with the following exceptions: 

  • Stainless steels
  • Sheeting
  • Resistance welding
  • Riveting
  • Matters not related to structural integrity, e.G., Visual appearance

What’s changed since the last update? 

PD 6705-2:2010+A1:2013 to BS EN 1090-2 superseded BS 5400-6 in March 2010 following a period of coexistence. The replacement of BS 5400-6 with PD 6705-2:2010+A1:2013 to BS EN 1090-2 represents a substantial change in construction practice in the UK.
