What is ISO 10364 - Pot life of multi-component adhesives about ?

ISO 10364 is an international standard used for structural adhesives that helps in determining the pot life of multicomponent adhesives. ISO 10364 can be your best guide in mixed coating systems used for multi-component adhesives.

ISO 10364 specifies methods for determining the pot life of multi-part adhesives in order to be able to determine whether the pot life conforms to the minimum specified working life required of an adhesive.

Note: Some of the methods described in this International Standard can also be suitable for the determination of the working life of one-part adhesives that react to humidity (e.g. PUR prepolymers).

Note: ISO 10364 can also be used for assessing non-structural adhesives.

Who is ISO 10364 - Pot life of multi-component adhesives for ?

ISO 10364 on structural adhesives is useful for:

  • Metal industries
  • Manufacturers of plastic products
  • Waterproofing
  • Manufacturers of rubber products

Why should you use ISO 10364 - Pot life of multi-component adhesives ?

The pot life is also known as working life. Pot life is the time from mixing the two packs together to the point at which the mixed paint is no longer useable. This pot life is the length of time that a mixed (catalysed) coating system retains the low viscosity which is useful in applying to the surface of multicomponent adhesives.

ISO 10364 act as a guide in conducting tests that helps in determining the pot life of multi-part adhesives. With the help of ISO 10364, you can coat two or more adhesives efficiently by using the pot life (working life) of multicomponent adhesives.
