What is BS EN 61199 - Single-capped fluorescent lamps about? 

BS EN 61199 is an international standard that discusses the safety of single-capped fluorescent lamps. A single-ended LED lamp is a lamp that has live and neutral pins on the same side of the lamp. 

BS EN 61199 specifies the safety requirements for single-capped fluorescent lamps for general lighting purposes of all groups having caps according to Table 1. BS EN 61199 specifies the method a manufacturer should use to show compliance with the requirements of this standard based on whole production appraisal in association with his test records on finished products. 

This method can also be applied for certification purposes. Details of a batch test procedure that can be used to make a limited assessment of batches are also given in BS EN 61199.
