Self-storage is an industry that rents storage space such as rooms, lockers, containers, and/or outdoor space to tenants, usually on a short-term basis. In BS EN 15696, the self-storage units are constructed, maintained in a manner that provides a lockable self-contained storage space providing protection from the natural element, that may be closed and secured through control panels, swipe cards, padlocks or another locking mechanism provided by the service provider or by the customer.
