What is PD 6662 about?
A ‘fit for purpose’ intruder and hold-up alarm system (I&HASs) will comprise several components, including the right equipment, the right system design, and the right installation and maintenance regimes.
PD 6662 provides a ‘scheme’ describing how I&HAS should be assembled with reference to the relevant British and European standards, technical specifications, and D rafts for Development that specify different components of the I&HAS.
PD 6662 applies to IASs, Hass, and I&HASs, with wired interconnections and/or wire‑free interconnections and the scheme does not apply to exterior IASs which are installed in accordance with BS 4737‑4.3, nor does it apply to portable hold‑up devices which report directly to a monitoring centre.
