What is ISO 20766-9 - Pressure relieve device about?
ISO 20766-9 is the ninth part of the multi-series standard that specifies general requirements and definitions of liquefied petroleum gas fuel components, intended for use on the types of motor vehicles as defined in ISO 3833.
ISO 20766-9 also provides general design principles and specifies requirements for instructions and marking.
ISO 20766-9 is applicable to vehicles (mono-fuel, bi-fuel or dual-fuel applications) using gaseous fuels in accordance with ISO 9162.
Note -
ISO 20766-9 is not applicable to the following
- Fuel containers
- Stationary gas engines
- Container mounting hardware
- Electronic fuel management
- Refuelling receptacles
Who is ISO 20766-9 - Pressure relieve device for?
ISO 207669 on pressure relieve device applies to:
- Manufacturers of gaseous fuel vehicles
- LPG Suppliers
- Pressure relieve device manufacturers
- Testing agencies for pressure relieve device (PRD)
Why should you use ISO 207669 - Pressure relieve device for?
ISO 20766-9 gives you a choice of marking their products with either the fusible material yield temperature or the PRD activation temperature.
ISO 20766-9 provides you with benchtop-activation test which demonstrate that a PRD will activate consistently throughout its life.
ISO 20766-9 specifies Accelerated-life testing which is to verify that the rate of creep is sufficiently low in order that the device can perform reliably for at least one year at 82 °C and for at least 20 years at 57 °C.
