What is ISO 2076625 - Gas connections for LPG vehicles about?

LPG is the preferred vehicle fuel since it is a cleaner-burning fuel that produces little residue, and improves the longevity of the engine.

ISO 20766 is an International Standard series on road vehicle LPG fuel systems. ISO 2076625 specifies general information regarding gas connections for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fuel, intended for use on the types of motor vehicles.

ISO 2076625 is the 25th part of the ISO 20766 multi-series, and specifies general requirements for the gas connection, a component of liquefied petroleum gas fuel, intended for use on motor vehicles as defined in ISO 3833.

ISO 2076625 is applicable to vehicles (mono-fuel, bi-fuel, or dual-fuel applications) using gaseous fuels in accordance with ISO 9162.

All references to pressure in ISO 2076625 are considered gauge pressures unless otherwise specified.

ISO 2076625 applies to devices that have a service pressure in the range of 110 kPa (butane rich at 20 °C) and 840 kPa (propane at 20 °C), hereinafter referred to in ISO 2076625. Other service pressures can be accommodated by adjusting the pressure by the appropriate factor (ratio).

Note: ISO 2076625 is not applicable to the following:

  • Fuel containers
  • Stationary gas engines
  • Container mounting hardware
  • Electronic fuel management
  • Refueling receptacles

Who is ISO 2076625 - Gas connections for LPG vehicles for?

ISO 2076625 on gas connections for LPG vehicles is useful for:

  • Manufacturers of LPG fuelled vehicles
  • Product design engineers / innovation teams
  • Quality control personnel
  • Road vehicle engineers
  • Mechanical engineers
  • LPG suppliers
  • Manufacturers of vehicle components
  • Safety and accident prevention authorities

Why should you use ISO 2076625 - Gas connections for LPG vehicles?

ISO 20766-25 provides general design principles and specifies requirements for instructions and marking.

ISO 20766-25 provides manufacturers with tools to improve their product by outlining tests that protect the device from leakage, perform continued operations, and ensure hydraulic strength by describing the construction and assembly mechanism of the manual gas connections.

ISO 20766-25 provides guidelines for hydraulic strength, high and low temperature of the LPG flexible-gas connections, the tensile strength, elongation of the rubber gas connections, permeability, bending test, impulse test, and gas-tightness.

Using ISO 20766-25guidelines, you can achieve sustainable and high-quality gas connections that function smoothly in adverse conditions. With obedience and compliance to ISO 2076625, you can achieve precision in terms of product functionality.
