What is BS 1707-Spray bar bench test about?

BS 1707 specifies a method of test for the accuracy of the spread of binder for bituminous binder sprayers for road surface dressing, bond coats, seals, preservatives and other sprays.
This test is the preferred UK method for undertaking the spray bar bench test referred to in the Factory Production Control requirements in Annex A of BS EN 12271:2006.
The test is undertaken when the equipment is stationary.

What’s changed since the last update?
BS 1707:2018 supersedes BS 1707:1989, which is withdrawn. This is a full revision of the standard, and introduces the following principal changes:
- Removal of the “carpet tile” test as this is now superseded by BS EN 12272‑1
- The coefficient of variation calculation is aligned with BS EN 12272‑1
- Binder collectors can now be 50 mm or 100 mm wide
