BS EN 15551:2017 supersedes EN 15551:2009+A1:2010, which is withdrawn. BS EN 15551:2017 has made some technical changes compared to EN 15551:2009+A1:2010. These includes:
- The “Introduction” was checked upon and revised
- Clause 1 “Scope” was revised
- Clause 2 “Normative references” as well the final “Bibliography” was checked upon and revised
- Clause 3 was modified- damping (3.11) was deleted, the calculation of damping in 3.8 and definitions of stored energy and absorbed energy for the static and dynamic conditions were added as 3.12 to 3.15, and the term “technical specification” was added as 3.16
- The term “elastic device” was replaced by “elastic system”
- The classification of crashworthy buffers was added as new Subclause 4.5
