What is BS EN 132721 - Interior lighting for heavy rail units about?

BS EN 13272 discusses railway applications. BS EN 132721 is the first part of the BS EN 13272 multi-series and discusses electrical lighting in heavy rail. Heavy rail is an electric railway on devoted rights-of-way that handles many passengers at once.

BS EN 132721 sets out the requirements and recommendations for interior electrical lighting systems for heavy rail units. BS EN 132721 applies only to new units. The application of BS EN 132721 for retrofitting of existing units is subject to agreement between contractors. BS EN 132721 also defines the requirements for testing and conformity assessment.
