What is PD CEN/TS 13149-11 about?
PD CEN/TS 13149 is a series of products concerns on-board data communication systems on public transport vehicles. This series provides for data services that enable open and managed to share of relevant information.
PD CEN/TS 13149-11 specifies a publication service for data provided by the vehicle platform, enabling all on-vehicle services to share a common understanding of the operational activity of the vehicle, based on inputs taken from chassis systems such as the J1939 CAN bus.
The Vehicle Interface Service shall publish two services, namely: a Configuration Service, based on HTTP and a Provision Service, based on UDP multicast. The provision service then provides vehicle interface data as configured by the HTTP-based configuration service,

It provides for the secure transmission of data from potentially safety-critical vehicle components, via a one-way publication IP-based service.
