1 Scope

This British Standard gives recommendations for the strategic management, staffing and operational practices of service providers delivering security services.

This British Standard is aimed at service providers that deliver security services on a contracted basis. It might also be of interest to those companies operating an in-house service provision.

5 Establishing the scope of service

When determining the scope of the provision of security services, the service provider should take into account:

1. the conditions related to the service provision;

2. the products and services of the service provider;

3. sector-specific codes of practice; and

4. boundaries, e.g. offices or units.

The scope should be available as documented information.
