BS EN 1877-1 is the first part of the multiple series that specifies a method for the determination of the epoxy equivalent and is applicable to all epoxy compounds, products, and systems for the protection and repair of the concrete structure.  

Note: BS EN 1877-1 does not apply to the measurement of epoxide equivalent to nitrogen-containing resins.

Epoxide equivalent is the mass of resin, in grams, that contains one mole of epoxide group. 

BS EN 1877-1 provides you with the general principle, sampling, apparatus, reagents, preparation of the perchloric acid (0,1 mol/l) in acetic acid, calculation of the concentration, procedure, and calculation to determine epoxy resins. 

BS EN 1877-1 specifies the reaction of the epoxide groups with nascent hydrogen bromide produced by the action of 0,1 mol/l standard volumetric perchloric acid solution on tetraethylammonium bromide. This will help you to determine the endpoint either using crystal violet as an indicator or by a potentiometric method.
