What is BS EN 12192-1 - Granulometry analysis for premixed mortars about?

BS EN 12192-1 is part of a series of inter-related parts dealing with granulometry size grading of products and systems for the protection and repair of concrete structures.

BS EN 12192-1 specifies a method for measuring the particle size distribution of the dry components of repair mortar mixes, being part of a repair product or system, as defined in prEN 1504-3, with a maximum particle size of 8 mm or 10 mm.

Note: BS EN 12192-1 does not cover particle size distribution of separate aggregates, which should be determined in accordance with the test method described in EN 933 series.

Who is BS EN 12192-1 - Granulometry analysis for premixed mortars for?

BS EN 12192-1 on granulometry analysis is useful for:

  • Manufacturers/suppliers of concrete repairing products
  • Civil engineers
  • Architects
  • Testing and inspection personnel

Why should you use BS EN 12192-1 - Granulometry analysis for premixed mortars

Premixed mortars are used for repairing concrete structures. The particle size distribution of dry components should be uniform as it results in a better finish for the applied layer.

BS EN 12192-1 gives a method for granulometric analysis of fillers for polymer bonding agents. Overall, BS EN 12192-1 helps you to determine the particle size distribution of premixed mortars by providing you with detailed guidance on the apparatus requirements, and a step-by-step procedure of the granulometry analysis method.
