What is BS EN 61534-1 - Powertrack systems about?
BS EN 61534-1 is a European Standard on cable management which is the first part of a multi-series that specifies general requirements and tests for powertrack (PT) systems with a rated voltage not exceeding 277 V a.c. single-phase, or 480 V a.c. two or three-phase 50 Hz or 60 Hz with a rated current not exceeding 63 A. These systems are used for distributing electricity in household, commercial and industrial premises.
Note: BS EN 61534-1 does not apply to:
- Cable trunking systems and cable ducting systems covered by IEC 61084
- Busbar trunking systems covered by IEC 60439-2
- Electrical supply track systems for luminaires covered by IEC 60570
Who is BS EN 61534-1 - Powertrack systems for?
BS EN 61534-1 on powertrack systems is relevant to:
- Electrical engineers
- Powertrack system manufacturer
- Electronic Systems manufacturer
- Electrical industry
Why should you use BS EN BS EN 61534-1 - Powertrack systems?
PT systems are an assembly of system components including a powertrack by which accessories may be connected to an electrical supply at one or more points along the powertrack. Powertrack systems, according to this BS EN 61534-1, are intended for use under the following conditions:
- An ambient temperature in the range –5 °C to + 40 °C, the average value over a 24 h period not exceeding 35 °C
- A situation not subject to a source of heat likely to raise temperatures above the limits
BS EN 61534-1 provides general notes on tests, general specification, ratings, classification,
Marking and documentation, construction with Clearances, creepage distances and solid insulation these features ensure the quality of powertrack systems.
On the basis of temperature, the insulation resistance test, and dielectric strength test, BS EN 61534-1 specify its durability and credibility which provides the performance of a product, helping you to save cost on electrical renovation and provide much more electrical power which is beneficial to determine the general requirements of powertrack systems.
