What is ISO 24025-1 about?

ISO 24025-1 is the first part of a multi-series of international standards on sulfone polymer moulding and extrusion materials which covers designation system and basis for specifications.

ISO 24025-1 establishes a system of designation for sulfone polymer moulding and extrusion materials, including polysulfone (PSU), polyethersulfone (PESU) and polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), that can be used as the basis for specifications.

  • Code-letters for fillers and reinforcing materials in data block 2
  • Code-letters used in data block 3
  • The set of conditions used to anneal specimens in block 4 before determination of the temperature of deflection under load is represented by the temperature of deflection under load, melt mass-flow rate, charpy notched impact strength, tensile modulus, and yield stress
  • Data block 5 is a way of transforming the designation of a material into a specification for a particular application
