What is ISO 2795 about?

ISO 2795 is an International Standard on dimensions and tolerances of sintered bushes. With ISO 2795, you will be able to standardise the production of high-quality sintered bushes, for optimal performance of the bearing application.

ISO 2795 specifies the dimensions and tolerances applicable to sintered bearings for the following ranges of inside diameters:

  • Cylindrical bearings: 1 mm to 60 mm
  • Flanged bearings: 1 mm to 60 mm
  • Spherical bearings: 1 mm to 20 mm

Who is ISO 2795 for?

ISO 2795 on sintered bushes is relevant to:

  • Sintered bushes manufacturers
  • OEM manufacturers
  • Automotive industry

Why should you use ISO 2795?

Plain bearings are used for sliding, rotating, oscillating or reciprocating motions that support and guide moving components inside the engine. Sintered bushings are best suited to high-frequency or otherwise fast plain bearing applications.

The sizes described in ISO 2795 are based on a range of shaft diameters that are thought to correspond to industrial requirements. For all except the smallest sizes, a thin-wall series is available in addition to the conventional series for all sizes save the smallest in order to provide a level of choice and, more crucially, to allow the same sizes to be used for plain bearings manufactured of alternative materials.

Indications on the appropriate dimensions and tolerances are provided under ISO 2795 for cylindrical, flanged, spherical bearings.

Bearing tolerances are established in ISO 2795, which can assist you in determining tolerances for the interior and outer diameters of bearings before and after fitting. In addition, the housing and insertion pin indices are provided.

If you are a manufacturer of plain bearings, ISO 2795 is your guide on adopting accurate and permissible values for dimensions and tolerances for improved performance of end-use applications.
