What is ISO 4379 about?

ISO 4379 is an international standard on plain bearings that discusses the best procedures and specifications required for manufacturing high-quality copper alloy bushes. ISO 4379 specifies dimensions and tolerances for cylindrical and flanged bushes with internal diameter, d1, in the range of 6 mm to 200 mm.

ISO 4379  applies to solid monometal copper alloy bushes to be used as plain bearings with and without oil holes and oil grooves.

Who is ISO 4379 for?

ISO 4379 on copper alloy bushes is relevant to:

  • Manufacturer of copper alloy bushes
  • Mechanical engineer

Why should you use ISO 4379?

A bush bearing, also known as a bushing or bush, is one classic type of independent plain bearing. It is a mechanical component that is designed to provide a bearing surface for rotary applications, reducing friction between the spinning shafts and stationary supporting elements.

ISO 4379 provide the best guidance on dimensions, tolerances, material, surface finish, construction, quality, assurance, designation of copper alloy bushes.

As a user of ISO 4379, you can be ensured of dimensions and tolerances for cylindrical and flanged bushes. ISO 4379 helps you in manufacturing bushes of required dimensions.
