What is BS EN 15805 about?

BS EN 15805 specifies the header frame dimensions of air filters for general ventilation to be used in air handling units, air intake system filters for rotary machinery and other applications. This includes pocket filters, rigid (V type) filters and filters to which header frame dimensions are applicable.

For side access systems, the filter channel shall be designed to accommodate filter dimensions and tolerances defined in this standard.

Who is BS EN 15805 for?

BS EN 15805 on air filters for general ventilation is useful for:

  • Manufacturers of ventilators, fans, air conditioners
  • HVAC manufacturers and suppliers
  • Hospitals and healthcare industries

Why should you use BS EN 15805?

Air filters play an essential role in all kinds of indoor climate areas. Not only are they essential for a good and healthy indoor climate, but they can also have a strong impact on the energy performance of buildings as well as air handling equipment. BS EN 15805 gives you the dimensional measurement of the frame of air filters.

BS EN 15805 provides a detailed overview about the measurements of face dimensions, header frame and holding frame of a filter which are the part of air handling system into which filters are fastened and sealed. BS EN 15805 lets you maintain the accuracy of header frame dimensions of air filters in terms of their efficiency for general ventilation.

Overall, BS EN 15805 lets you deliver high-quality and reliable air filters, thereby maintaining a safe and efficient ventilation system.

What’s changed since the last update?

BS EN 15805:2021 supersedes EN 15805:2009. BS EN 15805:2021 includes some technical changes with respect to EN 15805:2009. These include:

  • Update of normative references
  • Revision of Figure 1
  • Revision of Table 1
