What is BS EN 17432 about?
BS EN 17432 is an international standard that contains guidelines for confirming the overall performance of packaged refrigerating units for walk-in cold rooms.
BS EN 17432 specifies classification criteria, test conditions, and test procedures for performance testing of packaged refrigerating units for stationary cold room applications.
BS EN 17432 includes ductless units for cold storage applications at medium temperatures (MT) and low temperatures (LT) in either compact or split designs, fitted with electrically driven compressors, which work according to the vapour compression cycle.
Note: BS EN 17432 includes testing only in so-called “dry conditions”.
Who is BS EN 17432 for?
BS EN 17432 on packaged refrigerating units for walk-in cold rooms is for:
- Refrigeration equipment manufacturers
- Suppliers and service providers for refrigeration units
- Food sales industry
- Any entity dealing with food service
- Pharmaceutical Companies
- Blood storage laboratories
Why should you use BS EN 17432?
Walk-in refrigerators and freezers are very large, insulated, enclosed spaces used to store and/or display refrigerated or frozen food or other perishable goods.
BS EN 17432 on packaged refrigerating units for walk-in cold rooms is developed in order to provide you with a suitable method for carrying out a performance test of packaged refrigerating units for walk-in stationary cold room applications, for various purposes such as in the food industry or in the pharmaceutical companies.
BS EN 17463 focuses mainly on the description of a test procedure providing reliable test results, which can be used to compare the performance of different models/types of the packaged refrigerating units so that you can choose a suitable refrigeration system as per your requirement.
