What is BS 1902-5.11 - testing Refractory Materials for Ceramics about?  

BS 1902-5.11 is a British Standard for the glass and ceramics industry. BS 1902-5.11 is the 5th part of refractory and thermal properties, which specifies the method of determination of thermal spalling resistance by the prism test. 

The thermal spalling resistance of refractory products as outlined in BS 1902-5.11 cannot be readily quantified. Results have to be expressed in terms of the relative performance of a number of refractory products when tested by the same method 

Two Laboratory Methods have been selected to be included in BS 1902-5.11. BS 1902-5.11 contains the prism test method and was prepared under the direction of the Refractory Products Standards Committee.  

BS 1902-5.11 includes the Designation, Definition, Principle, Apparatus, Test Pieces, Procedure and Test Report.
