What is BS EN 993-6 about?

BS EN 993 is a series on test method for (dense) shaped refractory products. BS EN 993-6 specifies a method for the determination of the modulus of rupture of dense and insulating shaped refractory products at ambient temperature, under conditions of a constant rate of increase of stress. This test method could also be used for materials development, quality control, characterization, design and data generation purposes.

The method specified in BS EN 993-6 is also applicable to unshaped refractories, more specifically on test pieces prepared according to the requirements of EN ISO 1927-5 and EN ISO 1927-6.
