What is BS 3908-10 – Antimony in lead alloys about? 

BS 3908-10 is the 10th part of the BS 3908 series that discusses the antimony in lead alloys for the sampling and analysis of lead and lead alloys. The primary use for lead alloys is in the production of battery parts for lead-acid batteries. 

BS 3908-10 describes a method for the determination of the amount of antimony present in lead alloys by titrimetry. It applies to antimony contents in the range of 0.2 % to 12 % by mass.

BS 3908-10 provides you with the determination of the lead alloys. The titrate with the 0.1 mol/L solutions of ammonium cerium (IV) sulphate (3.7.1) is used while adding it in small quantities (approximately 0.2 mL to 0.3 mL) with the constant swirling of the solution. This determination helps you with the sampling and analysis of lead and lead alloys.
