What is BS 4029 – Tensile elastic recovery about?
BS 4029 is an international standard that focuses on the determination of tensile elastic recovery of single fibres and filaments (constant-rate-of-extension machines).
BS 4029 specifies a method of test for the measurement of tensile elastic recovery of all types of single filaments or fibres when subjected to the tensile strain applied by a constant-rate-of-extension machine. No special pre-treatments such as mechanical cycling or relaxation of internal stresses by immersion in boiling water are specified, although they may be required for some special purposes.
