This part of BS 4368 specifies general and dimensional requirements for the design and performance of collet compression fittings which are suitable for use with ferrous and non-ferrous tubes with outside diameters from 6 mm to 50 mm inclusive. They are intended for the connection of plain end tubes and hose fittings to ports in accordance with BS EN ISO 6149‑1, BS EN ISO 1179‑1 and BS EN ISO 9974‑1. The limits of pressure and temperature of use are also specified.

Requirements for tubes are included together with marking and designation requirements for the fittings.

Annex A is informative and provides a list of procurement information required from a purchaser of the components specified in this standard.
