In order to ensure uniform standards of manufactruing and processing across Europe, national training and qualification of maintenance personnel should be carried out within a structured framework of mutually accepted guidelines.
PD CEN/TR 15628:2007 describes the current situation for defining the competence levels for personnel operating in maintenance and the knowledge levels required to be addressed to carry out those competencies.
Three levels of qualification exist:
- European maintenance technician
- European maintenance supervisor
- European maintenance manager.
PD CEN/TR 15628:2007 lists the knowledge requirements to be incorporated within maintenance training and proposed levels of competence for each qualification.
PD CEN/TR 15628:2007 is applicable to any business or educational facility that offers training and qualification of maintenance personnel.
