What is BS IEC 62906-5-2 - Speckle contrast about?

BS IEC 62906-5-2 is the fifth part of an international standard used for Laser display devices that specifies the optical measurement of speckle contrast used in these devices. By using BS IEC 62906-5-2 you can improve the image quality of these laser display devices.

BS IEC 62906-5-2 specifies the standard measurement conditions and measurement methods for determining the monochromatic speckle contrast of laser display devices (LDDs).

The LDDs may include hybrid types using both a laser or lasers and spontaneous emission-based light sources, such as LEDs.

Note: The monochromatic speckle contrast measurements do not include image quality issues.

Who is BS IEC 62906-5-2 - Speckle contrast for?

BS IEC 62906-5-2 on Laser display devices is useful for:

  • Manufacturers of electronic devices
  • Medical diagnosis
  • Manufacturers of laser products
  • Electronic engineers

Why should you use BS IEC 62906-5-2 - Speckle contrast

Laser speckle contrast imaging is also known as laser speckle imaging. This imagining is based on the analysis of the blurring effect of the speckle pattern.

BS IEC 62906-5-2 specifies the optical measurement method which is useful in assessing the laser display devices (LDD).  With the help of this method, you can determine the speckle contrast of laser display devices (LDD).

By applying BS IEC 62906-5-2 you can reduce the blur image which results in improving the quality of these laser display devices.
