What is BS EN 14366-Waste water installation about?
BS EN 14366 discusses the measurement of noise from waste water installations. Wastewater treatment plants (sewer plants) contain several large pieces of mechanical equipment to clean used water and sewage so they can be returned safely to our environment.
These pieces of equipment and processes create a high noise level. BS EN 14366 specifies methods for the measurement of airborne and structure-borne sound produced in waste water and rainwater installations under laboratory conditions and defines the expression of the results.
BS EN 14366 is applicable to waste water piping systems and parts thereof, but not to the actual sources of the wastewater, e.g., lavatories, toilets, bathtubs, or any active units. It applies to pipes with natural ventilation and is made of any common material in commonly used diameters (up to 150 mm).
