What is ISO/TS 2597‑4- Determination of total iron content using potentiometric titration method about?
ISO/TS 2597‑4 specifies a potentiometric titration method for the determination of total iron content of iron ores, using potassium dichromate as titrant after reduction of the iron(III) by tin(II) chloride and titanium(III) chloride. The excess reductant is then oxidized by potassium dichromate solution.
This method is applicable to total iron contents between a mass fraction of 29,04 % and a mass fraction of 72,02 % in natural iron ores and iron ore concentrates and agglomerates including sinter products.
Who is ISO/TS 2597‑4- Determination of total iron content using potentiometric titration method for?
ISO/TS 2597‑4- Determination of total iron content using potentiometric titration method is useful for:
- Metal and iron ore industry
- Testing houses/ laboratories
Why should you use ISO/TS 2597‑4- Determination of total iron content using potentiometric titration method?
ISO/TS 2597‑4 provides you guidance on carrying out test methods such as- potentiometric titration, reduction, determination of hygroscopic moisture content, blank test and check test, to enable you to determine total iron content of iron ores with precision and accuracy.
ISO/TS 2597‑4 allows you to achieve maximum purity of iron content and between laboratories precision, repeatability and comparison with independent duplicate unit.
