What is ISO 2110 - Data communication of 25-pole DTE/DCE interface connector about?

ISO 2110 specifies the 25-pole connector and the assignment of contact numbers at the interface between data terminal equipment (DTE) and data circuit-terminating equipment (DCE) or parallel automatic calling equipment (ACE). In Annex A, diagrams for finger clearance areas are given to provide guidance for equipment designers. Figure A.1 shows the maximum DTE connector outline including all means for latching to the latching blocks. Figure A.2 shows the minimum DCE connector spacing when multiple interface arrangements are used.

Note 1: A 25-pole connector shall be provided for the DTE/DCE interface. A separate 25-pole connector shall be provided for the parallel automatic calling equipment interface if the facility in accordance with CCITT Recommendation V.25 is used.

Note 2: Connector shielding is optional. If it is used, for example, due to national regulations, etc., it shall be accomplished by the use of metallic connector housings on both the DTE connector and the DCE connector.

Who is ISO 2110 - Data communication of 25-pole DTE/DCE interface connector for?

ISO 2110 on data communication of 25-pole DTE/DCE interface connector is useful for:

  • Small scale automation industries
  • Large scale automation industries
  • IT industries
  • IT engineers
  • Software engineers
  • Network controlling companies
  • Transport companies
  • Manufactures cable adapters 25-pole DTE/DCE connector

Why should you use ISO 2110 - Data communication of 25-pole DTE/DCE interface connector?

The n-pole connector is a component that terminates conductors for the purpose of providing connection and disconnection to a suitable mating component

ISO 2110 specifies voice band modems, public data network (PDN) facilities, telegraph signal

converters, and automatic calling equipment where CCITT1) Recommendations V.24 and V.28 are applicable. This will assist you with the PDN attachment through the X.20 interface, the functions of the interchange circuits are in accordance with CCITT Recommendation X.24. In the case of the V.20 type outstation interface, the electrical characteristics are in accordance with CCITT Recommendation V.31 or V.31 bis.

ISO 2110 provides the dimensions of the connector housing, as well as the recommended means of providing a locking device (latching block) and connector shielding. This will assist you in operation exceeding 20 000 bit/s characteristics that are in accordance with CCITT Recommendation V.10 and CCITT Recommendation V.11.
