What is  ISO 21262 about?  

ISO 21262 gives safety requirements for the application, operation, maintenance, transport, tow, assembly, and storage of industrial trucks as defined in ISO 5053‑1.

Note: ISO 21262  applies to the following truck types:

  • Counterbalance lift trucks
  • Reach trucks (with a retractable mast or retractable fork arm carriage)
  • Straddle trucks, Pallet-stacking trucks
  • Platform trucks, Double stackers, Side-loading trucks (one side only)
  • Lateral-stacking trucks (both sides), and lateral- and front-stacking trucks
  • Order-picking trucks
  • Bidirectional and multidirectional trucks
  • Counterbalance container handlers
  • Articulated counterbalance lift trucks
  • Variable-reach trucks, Pallet trucks
  • Platform and stillage trucks
  • Tractors with a drawbar pull up to and including 20 000 n
