What’s changed since the last update?  

BS EN IEC 62439-2:2022 supersedes BS EN 624392:2017, which will be withdrawn on 19 January 2025. BS EN IEC 62439-2:2022 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 624392:2017. These include: 

  • Improvements for the Continuity Check Protocol 
  • Introduction of further specifiers for the rings, the interconnection links, and the device roles 
  • Extensions and information on the use of baudrates smaller than 100 Mbit/s 
  • Information on using MRP together with scheduling and shaping mechanisms 
  • Introduction of an MRP Interconnection profile for a 30 ms reconfiguration time
