What is BS EN 62256-Hydraulic turbines?
The purpose of BS EN 62256 is to assist in identifying, evaluating, and executing rehabilitation and performance improvement projects for hydraulic turbines, storage pumps and pump-turbines.
BS EN 62256 covers turbines, storage pumps and pump-turbines of all sizes and of the following types:
- Francis
- Kaplan
- Propeller
- Pelton (turbines only)
- Bulb turbines
BS EN 62256 also identifies without detailed discussion, other powerhouse equipment that could affect or be affected by a turbine, storage pump, or pump-turbine rehabilitation.
Who is BS EN 62256-Hydraulic turbines for?
BS EN 62256 on hydraulic turbines, storage pumps and pump turbines is useful to:
- Hydraulic turbines, storage pumps, and pump-turbines owners
- Hydraulic turbines, storage pumps, and pump-turbines consultants
- Hydraulic turbines, storage pumps, and pump-turbines suppliers
- Hydraulic turbines manufacturers
- Storage pumps and pump-turbine manufacturers
- Wind power plants
- Hydropower power plants
Why should you use BS EN 62256-Hydraulic turbines?
Hydraulic turbines are designed, constructed, and operated to meet a variety of human requirements, including electricity generation, irrigated agricultural production, flood control, public and industrial water supply, drinking water supply, and a variety of other functions.
BS EN 62256 provides requirements of rehabilitation and performance improvement for the hydraulic turbines, storage pumps, and pump turbines.
BS EN 62256 is intended to be a tool in the optimization and decision process and help you to establish the needs and economics for rehabilitation and performance improvement and improve the performance and reliability of hydraulic turbines, storage pumps, and pump turbines.
The best industry guidance in BS EN 62256 can help you reduce the cost of maintenance plant equipment (turbines, generators, transformers, penstocks, gates, etc.) and structures and help to avoid unnecessary risks and improve efficiency.
