What is BS EN 50090-1HBES - Standardization structure about?

BS EN 50090 is a European standard series that concentrates on HBES Open Communication System Class 1. BS EN 50090-1 is the first part of the multi-series standard that gives an overview of the features of the HBES Open Communication System and provides the reader with references to the various parts of BS EN 50090 series.

BS EN 50090-1 concentrates on control applications for Home and Building HBES Open Communication System and covers any combination of electronic devices linked via a digital transmission network. Home and Building Electronic System as provided by the HBES Open Communication System is a specialized form of automated, decentralized, and distributed process control, dedicated to the needs of home and building applications.

BS EN 50090 series concentrates on HBES Open Communication System Class 1 and includes a specification for a communication network for Home and Building for example for the control of lighting, heating, food preparation, washing, energy management, water control, fire alarms, blinds control, different forms of security control, etc.

Note: BS EN 50090 is used as a product family standard. BS EN 50090 is not intended to be used as a standalone standard.

Who is BS EN 50090-1HBES - Standardization structure for?

BS EN 50090-1 on HBES - Standardization structure is useful for:

  • Manufacturers of electronic and control components
  • Retailers and distributors of various electronic and control components
  • Service providers and installers for electronic and control components
  • Building automation monitoring agencies

Why should you use BS EN 50090-1HBES - Standardization structure

Home and Building Electronic Systems as provided by the HBES Open Communication System are a specialized form of automated, decentralized, and distributed process control, dedicated to the needs of home and building applications.

BS EN 50090-1 intended to be used electronic devices linked via a digital transmission network to provide automated, decentralized, and distributed process control for domestic and commercial and building applications with human-controlled applications, like the control of lighting, heating, food preparation, washing, energy management, water, fire alarms, blinds, security, etc.

The growing use of home and building networks to interconnect devices introduces additional challenges to maintaining functional stability because of possible chances of device interactions. This is where BS EN 50090-1 addresses the failure of connecting devices to a home or building network, enabling the data exchanges and remote control from your home or building.

The requirements provided by BS EN 50090-1 assist in improving the performance and quality of the HBES for its use in different application domains and installation types, and in “Service Network” environments.

With obedience and compliance to BS EN 50090-1, you can enhance the efficacy of the HBES and manufacture a standardized high-quality product.
