What is BS EN 122110 - BS EN 122110 - Series SMA about?

BS EN 122110 discusses a harmonized system of quality assessment for electronic components. Harmonized system of quality assessment for electronic components is an internationally standardized system of names and numbers to classify traded products. BS EN 122110 applies to miniature screw-coupled coaxial connectors, Series SMA.

BS EN 122110 prescribes mating-face dimensions for general purpose connectors and standard test connectors, Grade 0, together with gauging information. BS EN 122110 also indicates recommended performance characteristics to be considered when writing detailed specifications and covers the test schedules and inspection requirements for Assessment Level M, H and U.

Who is BS EN 122110 - Series SMA for?

BS EN 122110 on Series SMA is useful for:

  • Telecommunication component manufacturers
  • Telecommunication equipment manufacturers
  • Design engineers
  • Quality control personnel

Why should you use BS EN 122110 - Series SMA?

Harmonized system of quality assessment for electronic components is organized logically by economic activity or component material. Appropriate tests, test conditions and severities, for the majority of general-purpose connectors are listed in BS EN 122110. The selection, severity and periodicity of certain specialized tests are dependent upon the physical and electrical characteristics of individual connector styles as indicated in each DS.

The applicability of any tests required, at the discretion of the specification writer, additional to those already indicated as mandatory, are indicated in the “Tests Required” column of BS EN 122110 using “a” for applicable. “na” is used to indicate non-applicable tests. All tests marked “a” are mandatory. Quality conformance inspection consists of Test Groups A1 and B1 on a lot-by-lot basis. For Levels M, H and U, qualification approval and its maintenance consist of three consecutive lots passing Test Groups A1 and B1 followed by a selection of specimens from the lots as appropriate. These specimens successfully pass the specified D tests as in BS EN 122110. Using BS EN 122110 you can specify miniature screw-coupled coaxial connectors, Series SMA.
