What is BS CECC 63000 - Quality assessment of films and integrated circuits about?

Integrated circuits are globally popular in most electronic devices like automobiles, watches, microwave ovens, computers, televisions, traffic lights etc. BS CECC 63000 defines quality assessment procedures and gives test and measurement conditions applicable to the entire family of film and hybrid integrated circuits.

BS CECC 63000 applies to Film and Hybrid Integrated Circuits (F & HICs) — both passive and active as defined in IEC 147-0B: Second supplement to Publication 147-0. BS CECC 63000  also applies to part-completed F&HICS supplied to customers for subsequent processing, and to chip carrier circuits having more than one chip, provided that they, as separate products, have been interconnected by film interconnection techniques.

Note: BS CECC 63000 does not cover printed boards but applies to F&HICS which may include them.

Who is BS CECC 63000 - Quality assessment of films and integrated circuits for?

BS EN BS CECC 63000 on the quality assessment of films and integrated circuits is useful for:

  • Manufacturer of electronic equipment and components
  • Manufacturer of electrical equipment and components
  • Maintenance and augmentation teams
  • Companies associated with designing and installation of electronic devices
  • Fault management teams
  • Quality management teams

Why should you use BS CECC 63000 - Quality assessment of films and integrated circuits?

Integrated circuits are fundamental building blocks of modern electronic devices. They function as oscillators, timers, computer memory, amplifiers, microcontroller, microprocessors, counters, or logic gates. There are certain specifications regarding the performance of these semiconductor devices.

BS CECC 63000 defines the quality assessment procedures and the methods for electrical, climatic and mechanical testing and states the requirements which shall be applied to the release of products using either qualification approval procedures or capability approval procedures. When introduced, passive networks can be qualified to BS CECC 63000 or alternative specifications. For resistor networks, see specification CECC 64000.

The guidelines in BS CECC 63000 help you with the quality assessment of films and integrated circuits that enable you to provide a superior quality product to your customers.
