What is BS EN 914 about?
BS EN 914 discusses parallel bars and a combination of asymmetric/parallel bars used as gymnastic equipment. Parallel bars are floor apparatus consisting of two wooden bars long and positioned at roughly hand height. Parallel bars are used in artistic gymnastics and also for physical therapy and home exercise.
BS EN 914 specifies functional requirements and specific safety requirements in addition to the general safety requirements in EN 913. BS EN 914 applies to three types of parallel bars used under the supervision of a competent person.
