What is ISO 12958-2about?
ISO 12958-2 is the second part of the multi-series ISO 12958. ISO 12958-2 specifies a method for determining the constant-head water flow capacity within the plane of a geotextile or geotextile-related product, using boundary materials and test conditions of interest. A standard series of test conditions is proposed, involving soil confinement, low hydraulic gradients, seating times, and an array of normal loads.
Who is ISO 12958-2 for?
ISO 12958-2 on performance test of geotextiles is useful for:
- Geotextiles and geotextile-related products manufacturing industries
- Geotextiles and geotextile-related products testers
- Industries using geotextiles and geotextile-related products
Why should you use ISO 12958-2?
A geotextile is typically defined as any permeable textile material used to increase soil stability, provide erosion control, or aid in drainage.
ISO 12958-2 provides the required guidance on the performance test of geotextile and geotextile-related products on the water flow capacity.
ISO 129582 states the flow capacity of the product in each direction is evaluated considering soil confinement, service load, and service hydraulic gradient, as well as a primary creep.
