What is BS EN 10028‑6 - Weldable fine grain steels about?
BS EN 10028 is a series of European standards on flat products made of steel for pressure purposes that discusses the best procedures and specifications on manufacturing high-quality sheets and plates from quenched and tempered weldable fine grain steels for the construction of safe pressure equipment. BS EN 10028-6 is the sixth part of a series of documents on flat products made of steel for pressure purposes. BS EN 10028‑6 specifies the requirements for flat products for pressure equipment made of weldable fine grain steels, quenched and tempered.
NOTE: Once this European Standard is published in the EU Official Journal (OJEU) under Directive 2014/68/EU, the presumption of conformity to the Essential Safety Requirements (ESRs) of Directive 2014/68/EU is limited to technical data of materials in this European Standard (Part 1 and the other relevant part of the series) and does not presume adequacy of the material to a specific item of equipment. Consequently, the assessment of the technical data stated in this material standard against the design requirements of this specific item of equipment to verify that the ESRs of Directive 2014/68/EU are satisfied, needs to be done.
Who is BS EN 10028‑6 - Weldable fine grain steels for?
BS EN 10028-6 on flat products made of steels for pressure purposes is relevant to:
- Manufacturer of quenched and tempered weldable fine grain steels products
- Manufacturer of pressure appliance
Why should you use BS EN 10028‑6- Weldable fine grain steels?
Quenched and tempered steel is a high-strength and abrasion-resistant steel with high fabrication qualities and mechanical properties. To increase the hardness and strength of steel, it is subjected to processes such as quenching and tempering.
BS EN 10028‑6 navigates you through the tolerances on dimensions, classification, and designation, steelmaking process, surface condition, internal soundness, chemical properties, mechanical properties, test methods.
BS EN 10028-6 exemplifies the required chemical composition and mechanical properties that help you achieve precision in terms of product functionality and specification.
As a user of BS EN 10028-6, you can be ensured of all the requirements for flat products made of weldable fine grain steels for pressure purposes. With obedience and compliance to BS EN 10028-6, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality flat products for pressure equipment made of quenched and tempered weldable fine grain steels. With BS EN 10028-6 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets. BS EN 10028-6 provides you with comprehensive information useful throughout the process of production.
